Versatile welding machine from GenSet | Agg-Net
Power equipment suppliers GenSet have launched one of their most versatile products to date – an all-in-one electrofusion and metal welder machine, combined with an AC power generator. Powered by the latest Honda GX200 petrol engine, the unit measures 54cm x 37cm x 58cm and weighs just 36kg – a similar size and weight as a standard 2.2kVA generator. The Electrofusion welder has an output voltage range from 8V to 44V, with a peak current of 85 amps, making it capable of fusing up to 300mm size fittings. Fusion data is entered manually , or automatically via an RS23-enabled barcode pen reader. The unit has a sizeable internal memory that will store full particulars on the last 200 welds. Hardcopy data printing is available through a RS232 connector. The machine can also be used as a 130-amp arc electrode welder, with a useful striking voltage between 21V and 25V, so that it can easily handle a standard 2.5mm mild steel welding rod. With a maximum power output of 2.5kVA, at either 110V CTE or 240V AC, the GenSet Electrofusion unit is also a handy portable electricity generator. Power is generated from an advanced, brushless permanent magnet alternator with class H insulation, making it suitable for use in areas where a high level of safety is enforced. The machine complies with all the latest EC regulations for noise and emissions. Phil Wayman, GenSet’s business development manager, said: ‘Having the facility to weld plastic and metal in one combined unit will save a contractor both time and money, and we have already received significant interest from specialist hire firms.’
